Corrigin Yard Trial 2026

We were at the Corrigin Agricultural show for the one-day Yard trial.

The event is run by the PAWS club as part of the show.

The morning started with some light rain which cleared up quickly.  The rest of the day was bright and sunny, bringing a good crowd to watch the dogs and sheep.

We started with the Encourage workers who completed the course with a mentor.  They were not required to complete the load and unload section.  All competitors did very well by demonstrating some very good work.

The main event consisted of the Novice, Improver and Open being run together.

Each dog was permitted one run with the score added to the levels they were entered in.

The top three dogs in the Novice and Improver were run again to determine and overall score.

The top five dogs plus ties were run again for the Open final score.

Nicola Horder and Pilbara Indi came out on top in the Encourage event.

Simon Leaning and Marionvale Pete took the win in the Novice from Hayden Harries and Karridowns Freida.

In the Improver event it was Hayden Harries and Karridowns Freida’s turn to take the win from Simon Leaning and Marionvale Pete.

The Open event proved to be the Harries family battle with Hayden and Just Buster taking the win with a ½ a point from Shelby and Riche Dig.

Hayden spent the day judging all events and was himself, judged by Simon Leaning and Allan Dunn.
